What is the difference between validated learning and wastage? And how do you know beforehand?
Most of the Startups have many different strategies to make their product or service successful and dominate the industry, But many Startups failed not because they have no good product but because of their mistakes and mismanagement. The Lean Startup has one approach to overcome this problem that they should do validated learning, But what is validated learning and how to do it. And how to know beforehand that this learning will profitable or just a wastage of time and money.
Validated Learning:
Suppose you have built some feature for your existing product but it is found that no one is using it or customer has no need of it and it just a waste of time and money and at last you just “Learned” (An Expensive Learn).
By Validated Learning, you should follow a strategy that What Customer Really Want ?, not what you are thinking that the customer should need this Or what customer say or think. We must discover that if we are on the right path to make a sustainable business. Validated Learning is a process to see that if the team is on the right path for Startup’s present and future business prospects. It is more accurate and fast-paced than market forecasting.
Wastage:
Wastage is just the opposite of Validated Learning means if you are making mistakes and does not improve your product by learning from that mistake so it is just a wastage, if you have claimed that you have many startups failed but learned a lot that’s ok but where is the proof is it works on the market or depreciated.
But what if you experiment any feature of your product on your customer and you failed miserably and at last you say I learned, so it cost you very much with time and money both
Now, the question is raising is here that is also a title of this article that how do you know beforehand that it is going to be a validated learning or just a wastage?
So, the answer to this question could be that if you ship your product sooner to your customers and then by this you can implement those features and fix your product for a sustainable business.
